(when you touch my heart) i pour myself into the hypersea
dives into our interconnections as wet beings.
inspired by astrida neimanis’ writings on bodies of water, the work draws from a liquid source to form a link between human, machine, and virtual existence, creating a narrative of extended reality and entangled connectivity.the interactive installation reimagines embodiment, explores our fluid networks, and reaches back to the very origins of life.
if we are one vast ocean together and our boundaries dissolve—where does the i end and the you begin?
the work forms its own cycle, echoing the concept of the hypersea and extending it into technological and virtual dimensions.
at its center is a ceramic vessel filled with water, which functions both as a cooling system for the computer and as an interface.by touching the water, one crosses from the physical into the digital realm. bodies are constructed there, but they dissolve just as quickly. thus, the cycle between human, machine, and wet bodies is completed.
