of ridges and ripples
presented at Artemis Gallery Lisbon, of ridges and ripples brings together illuminated 3D-printed bodies, structured grass beds, and industrial aluminum frames in a suspended environment of mutual support. Emerging from growth simulations, the sculptures retain traces of virtual movement before settling into a temporarily stabilized physical state. Their inner light suggests continued activation, yet also reveals their reliance on electricity, structural support, and the surrounding environment.
Rather than autonomous objects, the sculptures exist within a network of co-dependencies between artificial bodies, organic matter, and industrial frameworks. Grass and aluminum are not symbolic opposites but active supports, each shaping the conditions under which the others persist. The installation explores how simulated forms become material while remaining embedded within the infrastructures that sustain them, dissolving clear boundaries between the artificial and the natural into a fragile, interconnected system.
